R.M. WilliamsMore than 70 years ago, Reginald Murray Williams AO, CMG began to make bush saddlery and boots while camped in South Australia's remote Gammon Ranges. Here, R.M. first met "Dollar Mick" Smith, an itinerant saddler, and after much trial and error, fashioned his first pair of stockman's riding boots. Since these early beginnings, the company has developed a world-wide reputation as a quality maker of boots and accessories.

AkubraIn 1874 Benjamin Dunkerley arrived in Tasmania from England and decided to start a hatmaking business in Hobart. His skills as a hatter were backed by his ability to invent machinery, and soon after his arrival he had developed a mechanical method of removing the hair tip from rabbit fur so the under-fur could be used in felt hat making. Previously this task had to be done by hand.
In the 1880's Dunkerley moved the business to Crown Street, Surry Hills, an inner suburb of Sydney, setting up a small hat making factory.

Driza-boneA celebration of Australia, Australians and their Driza-Bones. Since 1898 the coat has been part of Australia's history, and now it's a way of life, some even say a state of mind. For over 100 years the ever practical Driza-Bone® surfaces each year in the wet, worn by man, woman and child alike.
Today, Driza-Bone® has evolved from being soley an oilskin workcoat, to jackets, vests, hats and leathergoods used for both active and leisure outdoor activities. These not only reflect the heritage of Driza-Bone®, but also add a smart modern look to this Australian icon.

Redback
Redback means vision . In the early 1990s the Australian Government accelerated the removal of Tariff barriers protecting Australian Boot makers. Many footwear manufacturers decided to use this opportunity to source cheap semi finished products from third World Countries where costs are low.
Redback decided to go the opposite way. The Cloros family decided there was a market for hand made, high quality specialist boots for specific industry purposes. And began making a high quality range of boots for Firefighters, Police, Paramedics, Smelter and Steel makers, and Defense Force personnel. These boots are now exported to customers around the world.
